My learning process in English III with Lisette Lunar

This semester i improved my confidence with the english, before i was insecure with my writing and my grammar, today i feel that i can manage myself better in this language. In october i didn’t like much the idea of the blog or send the homework through módulo 7, but now, four month after, i can see that both of them are a good tools for the evaluation. I thank my teacher Lisette Lunar for the classes, the patience and the flexibility in the corrections. I think that the learning of the pre-writing techniques, the transitional signals and the characteristics of the types of text will be very helpfull in my process to perfection my english in the future.

Creatures Clone Selves in Face of Danger

This article is expositive because the information that it provides to the reader is explicative, the scientists who published the text intended to disclose their research and make it easy to anyone can understand.

As a summary of this discovery, i can say that
the sand dollar larvae clones itself when a predator is near to it, the scientist explains in the article that the clones are smaller than the original larvae and thanks to that they have a chance to survive hiding themselves from the predator, though some investigators think that a tiny size eventually can be dangerous for a larvae in the sea, where for many species being bigger helps scare off predators, the researchers don’t know yet if this is true for sand dollars, only they could prove the larvae clone itself in front of the danger and so far nobody has seen a response like that

Argumentative Text: The Twilight book is better than the movie

Twilight is a book created by Stephenie Meyer in 2005, tells the story of the young Bella Swan and her mysterious boyfriend Edward Cullen.

The book relates the arrival of Bella to Forks, Washington with her father Charlie and the sacrifice that she does for the happiness of her mother Reneé with her new husband Phil. In Forks Bella goes to a new high school and meet the Cullens: Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper and Edward. She gradually falls in love with Edward and thanks to her friend Jacob Black discovers that Edward and all his family are vampires.

This love story between a human and a vampire has been followed by millions of teenagers around the World and was premiered in the big screen in december 2008 starring by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

The film isn’t bad for anyone who has not read the book but for the real fans isn’t good enough. The book was written to make a movie, but unfortunately many dialogues, situations and images that were described by Meyer were wrong. For example:

1. Important details like the glow that Edward himself described like the skin of a killer and Bella said that it shine like if he had diamonds in his skin, in the movie that shine look like sparkles in the body of the actor.

2. The inhuman beauty of Rosalie who was compared in the book with a greek godess was played by an actress that isn’t pretty enough for the role.

3. The old computer where Bella was looking for the information about vampires, in the movie she was looking for legends of the Quileutes in a mac book of the last generation.

4. The meadow described in the book as a colorful and sunny place, in the big screen looks like a creepy place with trees.

5. And finally the Studio Ballet’s scene where Bella ironicly was able to scape easily from Alice and Jasper and then James just touching her leg, he breaks it and bites her wrist rather than bite her hand.

The movie has been sucessful thanks to the book’s fame not for the quality of the adaptation, but anyway Stephenie Meyer wins all the credit because she is the author of the saga and even plays an extra in the film. The critic says that she’s the new J. K. Rowling because when the seventh Harry Potter’s book was second in the bookstore in front of the third book of the Meyer’s saga Eclipse,
the readers figured out that now the wizards will have to fight with the vampires for the fame.

Descriptive Text: Garfield

Garfield is a fat orange cat with black stripes in all its body, has big eyes, pink nose, yellow mustache and a very peculiar attitude.
It’s very lazy, loves to sleep all day long, when it’s awake its favorite activity is to eat in big quantities, loves the lasagna (like me hahaha) and when it’s satisfied with the food, it watches a lot of tv and makes fun of Jon, its owner, and his unlucky love life and Odie a yellow dog that always does stupid things.

This cat doesn’t consider itself like a pet, always shows human feelings and concerns about themes like: overweight and aging. It personality is sometimes grumpy but most of the time it is sarcastic, selfish and superior to others. It is very smart and tries to get what it wants with the less work possible.

Narrative Text: Tim Burton and Johnny Deep

Timothy William Burton (California, August 25, 1958) is a director, film producer and writer born in United States.

Most of the films that he has directed have been marked by two aspects: visually, for to do reference to fantastic themes with dark and gothic elements, narrative, describing stories with enigmatic characters as protagonists.
In 1979 he was hired by the Disney Studios, time which he began to write and draw one of his most successful movies
The Nightmare before Christmas. In 1982 he made his first stop-motion animated short film, Vincent and two years later in 1984, he premiered his second short film which began to attract the attention of some films producers. The next year, he directed his long film Pee-wee's Big Adventure.

In the same year that Burton made his second short film, 1984, John Christopher Deep II (June 9, 1963), known as Johnny Deep began his film career in the United States acting as Glen Lantz in the movie Nightmare in Elm Street' directed by Wes Craven. His popularity reached for his role of the young police Tommy Hanson in "21 Jump Street", American series premiered in 1987 and which was 5 years on the air.

Deep always has been interested in special characters, different and odd that’s why he has collaborated with Tim Burton in six films: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the chocolate factory, Corpse bride and Sweeny Todd, they have a great connection in the set as a director and actor respectively and their fascination for the stories out of common has originated a lot of hits in the big screen in the last years.

The combination of these two artists has always been satisfactory for the fans of both. They’re good friends and it’s very probable that they continue working together for many years, already they have a new project in pre-production it’s the adaptation of the novel Alice in wonderland, this film will have the 3-D technique and Johnny Deep will play the role of the mad hatter, this will be the seventh time that Burton and Deep will work together, the film will premiered tentatively in March 2010 so the fans have to wait a little bit to see that movie in theaters.
